Geopolitical Outlook

  Throughout the duration of the Russia-Ukraine War, the poverty of real Marxist analysis is very apparent in some  very confused sections of the left [1] (as well as those who are purportedly left, but are clearly aligned with right-wing forces) who have committed themselves to either being apologists for Russia’s aggression and to championing multipolar capitalism, or cheerleading for the NATO-led alliance with the desire to draw out the conflict for as long as possible. They refuse to see the war as an inter-imperialist conflict, with U.S. imperialism competing with Russian imperialism over who gets to keep Ukraine as a colony, and who gets to have a puppet government that will be friendly to their respective bourgeois interests. But perhaps one of the most curious aspects of these Western “anti-war” movements is how quick they are to  call for the United States, Canada, the UK, and other U.S.-aligned countries to disarm [2]; as well as being quick to claim that these ...

  In the former USSR, the Soviets understood that sports were originally supposed to be for the physical and communal benefit, as well as the genuine enjoyment, of the people. For the most part, arguing with anti-science pandemic denialists is futile and tantamount to getting embroiled into arguments with the Flat Earth Society over astrology; both conspiratorial camps are psychotic and try too hard to see patterns where there are none to be found, and are completely out of touch with reality. But every once in a while, one of their most egregious claims will resurface and it is hard to ignore because of the sheer absurdity. Those who vehemently oppose the lockdowns and aggressively advocate that state of emergency measures be lifted prematurely tend to push and hold most if not all of these extremely confused and contradictory narratives: 1) Sue China, everything is their fault, they created the Coronavirus, etc. 2) The virus is not real. The pandemic is a hoax and the lockdowns are "authoritarian,", "fascist", and/or "totalitarian". 3) Praise Sweden for their "herd immunity", no-lockdown approach where "no one has died". 4) It's just like the flu. Although Aleppo was liberated on December 2016 and has made considerable efforts to rebuild, it still was not completely free from shellings, terrorist attacks, and threats of a renewed takeover by the Turkish-Salafist factions of the NATO-backed, head-chopping, so-called "moderate rebels". What neo-Malthusianists fail to realize is that poverty, unemployment, and the lack of equal distribution of resources has nothing to do with the world having "too many people". Then again, when one has an extremely pessimistic, anti-human, millenarianist worldview, one cannot rationalize any of the material conditions scientifically. Although the world has changed since the 1800's, a long standing feature of capitalism still remains, in spite of Marx and Engels not foreseeing the advent of artificial intelligence (A.I.): the capitalist bias of technology and overproduction.
